FUN-NELOGY

[FUHN/:L-OL-UH-JEE/:] NOUN.,

1. The science of understanding the world we live in while having fun
2. The art of funneling multiple stories through our own lenses

We are Max and Mattia, Nico & GabI,
and we are driven by one simple question:

How do we better understand the world we live in and how do we contribute to a Better Today?

For us, the answer has always begun with curiosity.

In 2014, we left Brussels to travel overland to Hong Kong. It took us 306 days to go over 20,000 km and over 20 countries – our Journey to the East. We thought we were setting out to discover new places. Instead, we discovered that the most meaningful stories rarely make the headlines. They unfold around kitchen tables, in local markets, on long bus rides and in conversations shared over food.

Those experiences became The Funnelogy Channel. Our name reflects what we've always believed: every story is filtered through our own lived experiences, but every encounter has the power to expand how we see the world.

Food has always been one of our favourite bridges into understanding people. It is one of the few universal languages, capable of crossing borders and cultures where words sometimes cannot. Behind every recipe lies a history, a landscape, a family and a way of seeing the world.

We bring together Italian, Chinese, French and Belgian origins; that’s a lot of delicious flavours to grow up with! Between us we have lived in Belgium, Brazil, China, Ethiopia, France, Hong Kong, Kenya, Morocco, and the U.K. Over the years a lot has changed. We've lived in different countries, continued travelling; built different careers, become parents and welcomed two endlessly curious boys—Max and Mattia—into our adventures.

Our Family Motto

“We are kind, we are curious, we are brave. We always try and sometimes we fail!”

While Max and Mattia have had the privilege to have seen quite a bit of the world already, we always knew that we wanted to share a bigger “Funnelogy” journey with them. To find ourselves back on the road, not for a week or two, but where we have the luxury of time; to connect, to slow down, to build unique memories, to discover those “places in between”.

Now, twelve years after our first journey, we're ready to set off again. This time not only to discover new places and learn about ourselves and the world, but to ask a different question:

What stories help us imagine a better Future and a better Today?

We still believe in the power of everyday moments. We still love grandmothers' recipes, bustling markets and conversations that begin over a shared meal. But we're also looking for the people quietly reshaping and reimagining the future: farmers restoring ecosystems, educators rethinking learning, entrepreneurs rebuilding local economies, communities protecting culture and nature, and families finding new ways to live well together.

We're not interested in chasing perfect answers. We're interested in asking better questions. Our children are part of that journey. Their curiosity reminds us to look at the world with less inhibitions and fixed narratives. We'll invite them to ask questions, meet remarkable people and discover that the future isn't only something we inherit—it's something we help to create.

The Funnelogy Channel remains what it has always been: a place for stories. Stories that connect people. Stories that celebrate food, travel and culture. Stories that challenge assumptions and power. Stories that remind us that another future is already taking root.

If you're curious too, welcome. We're glad you're here.

The Revolution will not be microwaved!
